En ocasiones se utiliza una banda de compresión para ayudar a descender un implante que ha quedado un poco alto. Su utilización es más frecuente cuando la vía de acceso es la axila. Esta banda es elástica, tiene un velcro y se coloca rodeando el pecho de forma que haga una presión hacia el polo inferior (hacia los pies). La pauta de utilización difiere según el cirujano. Mientras algunos solo la utilizan en casos puntuales, durante 4 ó 5 horas al día; otros cirujanos la prescriben las 24 horas del día y por un tiempo que puede superar el mes. Esta banda solo debe utilizarse si lo prescribe el cirujano plástico y no porque otra mujer la haya utilizado. Su utilización incorrecta puede empeorar el resultado estético
